Now that we have a bit of an idea where Supernatural is going this season, we’ve come up with a wishlist of things we’d like to see!

Monsters, myths, mansions… There are quite a few things we’d like to see now that we’re (seemingly) done with the pressing heaven drama.

Because it’s the show’s tenth season, we’re hoping that it really tries to get back to its roots. Back to the Winchesters driving in and out of a different horror story every week, really Americana-like stories and situations. You’ll notice that it’s this hope that really drives our wishlist.

Below are quite a few monsters and such that we’d love to see on Supernatural this season. Heck, we’d even settle for seeing them next season. We’re just that excited for the Supernatural narrative to open up again!

Note: We realize that quite a few items on this wishlist would involve Sam and Dean (or “Deanmon,” whichever you’d prefer or whichever is applicable) joining together and fighting on the same side. Yes, Deanmon is an antagonist at the moment, but we all know that won’t last for long, right?

Salem Witches

Surprisingly, Supernatural hasn’t ever dealt with ghosts or spirits from the Salem witch trials. Sure, Dean technically went to Salem and solved a mystery involving trial victims in Supernatural: One Year Gone, a novel based on the series. But we don’t really count that as canon. Not really.

Spoiler: Considering that “witchery” is shaping up to be a current in this season’s overarching plot (at least, according to an EW interview with showrunner Jeremy Carver), an episode or two centered on the Salem witch trials would fit right in.

The Jersey Devil

Considering that this is “The Year of the Deanmon” according to The CW, it’s the perfect time to introduce the Jersey Devil into the Supernatural canon. Okay, so the creature is not a true devil, but it’s close enough… Plus, we haven’t met the Jersey devil before and it’s a pretty well-known part of United States urban legend.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the tale, the Jersey Devil is the mythical creature plaguing the New Jersey pinelands for over 250 years. While there are conflicting creation stories for it, it’s generally said to be born of a human woman with a horse head, forked tail, and wings. It terrorizes towns and just causes a lot of trouble. In other words, it sounds like just the kind of monster that would be fun to see on the small screen.

The Winchester House

How is it that, through nine whole seasons, Supernatural has never made mention of or visited the infamous Winchester House in San Jose, California? Seriously though. In our opinion, it seems like a giant missed opportunity! Okay, so the house isn’t literally a monster. However, it could definitely have a monster of some sort inside! Have you heard some of the creepy things that have gone on there?

What we’re saying is what better time to visit the Winchester house than the monumental tenth season of Supernatural? The show seems to be done with angels for the time being, so we hope they return to their roots of spooky places and urban legends and check out this awesome marvel of architecture and weirdness.

Carmen Winstead or a case involving e-mail chain letters

One of the things that we loved most about the first season or two of Supernatural was their inclusion of urban legends into their storytelling. It seems like it has been forever since we’ve had a standalone episode like “Bloody Mary.” How interesting would it be for the Winchesters to encounter email chain letter curses? No, they’re not as much of a “thing” anymore, but that could make them all the more dangerous.

The Carmen Winstead “girl in a well” tale is one of the most popular stories, so we’d love to see her as a ghost on screen. It would be sort of like The Ring but more modern. It would be a really great nod back to the early days of the show. (And we’d love to see Dean deal with e-mail chain letters, especially in Deanmon form.)

‘Humans can lick too’

Another really great (and increasingly popular) urban legend/scary story is the “Humans Can Lick Too” tale. You know, the one where a woman can’t find the source of the dripping noise in her home late one night but is comforted by what she thinks is her dog licking her. Then, in the morning, she finds a note in the morning saying “Humans Can Lick Too,” implying that it was a murderer licking her hand all along and someone (or something) in her house was killed while she listened. While it’s not necessarily a ghost story, it’s definitely creepy enough to make for a quality episode of Supernatural.

While it’s not necessarily a rehashing of 1×07 “Hook Man,” it has similar elements, namely an unspeakable horror that happens under the cloak of night and a more-unsettling-than-comforting note found in the aftermath. It worked well for “Hook Man,” so why not try that sort of story again? The show could easily make the murderer into some sort of vengeful spirit or monster rather than just a human. We’d be really interested in watching that.

Pinocchio

Okay, okay. Hear us out for a second because we know what you’re thinking: Those Winchester boys really need to stop lying to each other ASAP. What better way to teach them that lesson and repair some of the damage to their relationship than a mischievous puppet who had a lying problem? (Yes, contrary to what the image may imply, we’re talking about the literary public domain character and not the Disney character.)

This wouldn’t be the first time that the Winchesters would encounter creepy dolls or fairy tale characters gone rogue. It could be a really interesting situation for the Winchesters to encounter and it could help try to restore the two back to who they used to be as individuals, rescuing them from the shells of their former selves that they’ve become. Or so we’d like to think.

A motel poltergeist or spirit

Because we’ve never once run into an evil spirit at one of the many motels that the boys have stayed in. Surprising, right?! And a lot of those motels were some pretty sketchy or overly gaudy places!

So, basically, Supernatural means to tell us that out of all of the motel rooms the Winchester brothers have checked into, none of them have ever been haunted? We call shenanigans. A haunted motel episode would just be good fun. We want it.

What kind of monsters or situations would you like to see on ‘Supernatural’ this season or in future seasons?
