Chris Wood, a veteran of multiple CW shows, will be a series regular in Supergirl season 2.

Wood, whose credits include Containment, The Vampire Diaries and The Carrie Diaries, will be playing a “surprise” character from the DC Comics, reports TVLine. He will be a series regular and make his debut early in season 2.

Further details about Wood’s Supergirl role are being kept under wraps. However, we previously reported Supergirl was casting two new series regulars: Lena Luthor and Nick Farrow. Could Wood be playing Nick Farrow (likely a pseudonym if he is meant to be a “surprising” DC Comics character)?

In the casting call, Nick is described as the son of a famous reporter who is a “brash leading man.” He comes into conflict with Kara at CatCo while “looking to make a name for himself in the news world.” However, “the question of whether he can leave behind his former selfish and hedonistic ways will constantly arise. In hanging out with Kara, the hero in Nick might finally come out.”

Already joining Supergirl season 2 are Tyler Hoechlin as Clark Kent/Superman, Lynda Carter as the president of the United States, Ian Gomez as journalist Snapper Carr and Floriana Lima as National City Detective Maggie Sawyer.

If you need to play catch up with Supergirl season 1, you’re in luck: two episodes will air each Monday beginning on August 1, starting with the pilot. With two episodes airing per week for ten weeks, we’ll be caught up just in time for season 2.

Supergirl season 2 premieres Monday, October 10 at 8:00 p.m. ET on The CW.
