Now that The Vampire Diaries is over, it’s time to check out all the new projects the stars are working on.

We’d love to keep these guys in Mystic Falls forever, but we’re also excited to see them move on to new, exciting challenges. Here’s where you can catch all your favorite stars of The Vampire Diaries in the upcoming television season.

Ian Somerhalder

Even after eight years of playing Damon Salvatore on The Vampire Diaries, Ian Somerhalder still wasn’t ready to leave the vampire world behind. Soon, you’ll be able to see him in the new Netflix vampire drama, V-Wars!

Unfortunately, Somerhalder won’t actually be playing a vampire in the new series…at least not at the beginning, that is. He will star in the show as Dr. Luther Swann, whose best friend gets infected by the vampire virus which has been released from ice because of climate change. This angle makes it seem like this could be right up Somerhalder’s alley, as he has always been an outspoken advocate for protecting our planet.

The series will be based on an IDW novel of the same name by Jonathan Maberry. No word yet on exactly when the series will premiere on Netflix, but it’s expected to drop in the latter part of 2018.

Paul Wesley

Like the man who played his elder brother, Paul Wesley is keeping things somewhat mythical. Beginning on Halloween, he’ll be starring in a new fairy tale drama, produced by The Vampire Diaries creator Kevin Williamson, called Tell Me a Story.

Tell Me a Story will premiere on CBS All Access on October 31, and will explore the themes and stories of three different fairy tales per season in the real-world setting of New York City. Wesley will play Eddy, who’s a part of the Three Little Pigs storyline.

The series will also star Danielle Campbell, of The Originals, as Little Red Riding Hood. Check out the trailer for the dark new series here.

Nina Dobrev

If you’ve somehow missed the impressive collection of movie roles that Nina Dobrev’s stacked up since exiting The Vampire Diaries after season 6, or you’re just still hungry for more of our leading lady, you’re in luck. On top of her roles in Flatliners, the newly released Dog Days, and many upcoming movies, Dobrev will star in a multi-cam sitcom this fall!

Fam will star Dobrev as Clem, a young woman who’s building the perfect life with her fiancé until her younger half-sister, who’s had it with living with her father, decides to move in. The synopsis doesn’t say this, but from the image above, we’re sure that chaos ensues!

Katherine Pierce always made us laugh on The Vampire Diaries, but Elena Gilbert was usually pretty doom and gloom, so it’ll be nice to see Dobrev exercise her comedy muscles, for a change. Fam will premiere on both CBS and CBS All Access in the fall, so it looks like Dobrev and Wesley will be sharing a network once again.

Kat Graham

You’ll be able to both see and hear our favorite Bennett witch on your screens this fall. On top of exciting movie roles in How It Ends and Decoy, you can catch her as the voice of April O’Neil in the animated series, Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Matt Davis, Zach Roerig and Steven R. McQueen

Luckily, some of our beloved The Vampire Diaries actors are staying put in Mystic Falls, where they belong! This fall, Matt Davis will star as Alaric Saltzman in the spinoff set at the Salvatore Boarding School, Legacies. The series will follow Hope Mikaelson, along with Alaric and Caroline’s own daughters, Josie and Lizzie.

What’s even more exciting is that Zach Roerig and Steven R. McQueen have already been confirmed to reprise their roles as Matt Donovan and Jeremy Gilbert. Hopefully this is only the beginning of the returning cast members we’ll get to see on the series.

Legacies will premiere on the CW on October 25. Check out the first sizzle reel here.
