A new piece of marketing for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug has surfaced, and there’s only one word to describe it: epic.

The image comes to us from Pro Cinema, a website from Romania, the country where the epic promo was constructed (hat tip to The One Ring for finding it).

This structure was beautifully created, and it’s actually really intriguing when you start to think about it. This structure most definitely was not a cheap one to produce, and Warner Bros. must have thought that it would bring enough people into the theaters to cover the cost of the sculpture, and that must be a lot of movie tickets. Granted, they were probably banking on it going viral, but given that, Romania is an unexpected location to construct it.

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug is only three weeks away from hitting the theaters, and marketing is in full swing.

Smaug himself was featured in a new TV spot earlier this week. The spot featured a few new looks at the enormous dragon as well as Martin Freeman as Bilbo getting tangled up in webs.

Last week we got the latest featurette for the film, which featured the movie’s new character Beorn, a giant who turns into a gigantic bear in the film. Be sure to watch the video and check out all the behind-the-scenes footage of Beorn’s house being built.

Hypable recently gave away three copies of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey’s Extended Edition in a contest that ended on Saturday. (Check your email to see if you won.) Read our review of the Extended Edition to find out why you should pick up the incredible set, which is available in stores now.
