Hypable’s Shadowhunters Worry Report wraps up who we’re concerned about, who is on the fringe, and whose story arc is just too devastating to even think about. Join us as we panic.

Welcome back to the Shadowhunters Worry Report 3B edition. Each week, we rank the characters we feel are on the brink of a breakdown, whose days are numbered, or who we simply cannot look at without feeling some butterflies in our stomach.

‘Shadowhunters’ 3×11 Worry Report

The Shadowhunters season 3B premiere left everything on the table. As we caught up with the events of the finale, several of our characters are facing an uncertain future. Those left in New York are wondering if they can move on after Clary’s death? And if so, how, where does one begin? Meanwhile, in Siberia, Clary is dealing with an unanticipated family reunion that forces her to confront a piece of her past she would prefer remained dead and buried.

Underneath the larger, looming misery surrounding Clary’s death are personal troubles compounded with the business-as-usual situations that inevitably bubble up on the job. While we know that Clary’s death is not going to stick, these characters are dealing with a very real and traumatic moment.

Some runners up for this week’s Worry Report include: Ollie, who is out living what we assume is her best life now that she is relocated; Maia’s step away from Simon leaves me a bit concerned about her future, but equally excited to see her carve out a new path for herself. And Luke, while he is spiraling in an unhealthy manner, I do think that he is onto something big and the reward will be in sight soon, if he can convince someone to take him seriously.

Don’t miss: Shadowhunters 3×11 begins the slow, painful healing process

5. Clary

Clary almost did not make the list this week namely because she is tough as nails and a survivor. But over the past few seasons she has always had a group of people to help counter some of her more abrasive maneuvers. Now, when she goes out alone into the cold wilderness of Siberia, it is the person who she cites as the enemy, who needs to come to her rescue.

Without anyone to trust around her, Clary needs to keep a level head and adapt quickly to recover from her actions. So far, so good. She gives Jonathan a good read, discovers his weaknesses and is able to slip his grip a few times. However, she discovers that getting rid of him is going to be next to impossible if she wants to stick around long enough to rejoin her friends and family.

4. The Seelie prisoner

All is not well in the Clave. Something is going on with prisoners and, potentially, the harnessing of Seelie magic. Alec thought to use the Seelie’s magic to create an illusion of Madzie and rescue Magus. Making the prisoner useful was inventive, though not quite above board.

However, Alec’s choice pales in comparison to what the non-guard Guard is doing to the prisoner. I mean, come on, their masks alone scream that these are not the people that you should be messing with.

3. Magnus

Magic or no magic, Magnus Bane has centuries worth of experiences that could resurface at any moment. As we witnessed in his series of memories used to deflect Iris’ attack, Magnus is physically 600 years removed from his traumatic familial past, but the memories are never far behind him.

His biggest struggle at the moment is one of identity. The Magnus we meet at the start of the series is certain of who he is. Through his relationship with Alec and the politics of the Clave, we’ve discovered new sides of Magnus. But none are quite as revealing as the warlock without his magic.

Magnus is vulnerable and afraid. It will be hard to watch him adapt to this new life, but at the same time, the hardest journeys are often the most rewarding.

2. Jace

I feel as though this section writes itself after the events of season 3 thus far. Jace is adjusting to having control of his body and mind again. His memories mix with those of the Owl and as a result he is flooded with all the remorse, guilt, and disgust of the actions he took while under the influence of Lilith.

But he also has to face the reality that his final days with Clary were spent in that body. The same body who looks back at him in the mirror every day. How does he move on from that? Luckily, he has a family who cares deeply about his well-being, and a parabatai who is more in tune with his struggles than Jace is aware.

There is hope on the horizon, though. And he may begin to heal in the City of Lights.

1. Simon

One particular vampire has us a little uneasy.

Simon Lewis never asked for any of this. He did not request that is best friend uncover a family secret that would lead them on an epic adventure. He certainly did not want to die and claw his way out of a grave as a vampire. And now, he is the unfortunate carrier of the Mark of Cain.

But Simon is a survivor, someone who’s undying loyalty to the people he lets into his life naturally sets him on a path that runs adjacent to danger. But as we check in with Simon during the Shadowhunters 3B premiere, “Lost Souls,” he appears to be a shell of the vampire we left in May.

Helping others, namely Clary, is what propels Simon forward, what gives him purpose. Now, more than ever, Simon needs to take a step back and let everyone else help him. He’s not asking for help, but luckily there are plenty of people in his life who can see that he needs it.

The journey ahead of Simon is not going to be easy, but at least, for now, he has a question that needs answering and a partner to help him figure it out. As he and Isabelle go off in search of answers about the Mark of Cain, perhaps they will discover something about themselves and each other that will prove to be just what they need.

Shadowhunters season 3, episode 12, “Original Sin,” airs Monday, March 4 at 8:00 p.m. ET on Freeform.
