Netflix’s Shadow and Bone has added seven new cast members, including newcomer Calahan Skogman as Six of Crows’ Matthias.

Shadow and Bone is one of Netflix’s most highly anticipated upcoming series. The YA fantasy series will adapt Leigh Bardugo’s wildly popular Grishaverse books — the Shadow and Bone trilogy and Six of Crows/Crooked Kingdom duology.

After months of hints and teases from the best-selling author, Netflix finally released the principal cast early in October , giving Shadow and Bone fans their first looks at fan favorite characters like Kaz Brekker and Inej Ghafa of Six of Crows and Alina Starkov and The Darkling from Shadow and Bone.

The lead actors who have already been announced were Ben Barnes as the Darkling, Freddy Carter as Kaz Brekker, Jessie Mei Li as Alina Starkov, Archie Renaux as Mal Oretsev, Amita Suman as Inej Ghafa and Kit Young as Jesper Fahey. Cast members that were later announced were Sujaya Dasgupta as Zoya Nazyalensky, Danielle Galligan as Nina Zenik, Daisy Head as Genya Safin and Simon Sears as Ivan.

Bardugo teased earlier yesterday that more Shadow and Bone casting news was coming, and this morning Netflix delivered with even more characters for fans of the series.

Deadline broke the news that seven new members had been added to the cast as recurring character, which were: Newcomer Calahan Skogman, Zoë Wanamaker (Killing Eve), Kevin Eldon (Game Of Thrones), Julian Kostov (Treadstone), Luke Pasqualino (Snatch), Jasmine Blackborow (School’s Out Forever) and Gabrielle Brooks (Young Vic Theatre’s Twelfth Night).

According to the release, Skogman will play Matthias, a Fjerdan witch hunter raised to despise the Grisha and their magic.

Wanamaker will portray Baghra, a ruthless teacher and trainer, determined to hone the power of each of her charges.

Eldon will play the Apparat, the mysterious spiritual adviser to Ravka’s royal family.

Kostov is Fedyor, a free-spirited Heartrender and loyal follower of General Kirigan.

Pasqualino will portray David, a brilliant Fabrikator who feels most at ease with his nose buried in a scientific treatise.

Blackborow will play Marie, an Inferni who tries to teach Alina the social rules of the Little Palace.

Brooks will portray Nadia, a Squaller who befriends Alina despite opposition from Zoya.

There has been no release date yet for Shadow and Bone, though Netflix has released an official logline for the show, which you can read below:
