Some very prolific names have thrown their weight behind the campaign to #SaveConstantine, after NBC passed on season 2.
John Constantine is no stranger to having the odds of survival stacked against him, but things took a turn for the worse yesterday when NBC pulled the plug on Constantine season 2. But all hope was not lost, as showrunner Daniel Cerone informed fans on Twitter that Warner Bros. were actively looking for a new home for the Hellblazer adaption.
Speculation is rampant as to who could pick up the show, including Netflix and Amazon Instant, but Constantine himself, Matt Ryan, offered a tantalizing option when commenting on its future.

Home to both Arrow and The Flash, the CW would offer up some amazing crossover opportunities — especially when it comes to the more supernatural and occult natures of Constantine. An opportunity, in fact, that Stephen Amell (Oliver Queen) couldn’t pass up on.

That would certainly be an interesting encounter — the sarcasm alone would be off the charts between Oliver and Constantine, as they battle their way through all kinds of forces working against them. Don’t even get us started on what the rest of the Arrow gang could bring to the table!
Not to be left out of the action, Joseph Morgan threw his hat into the ring. Could you imagine the Mikaelson family at odds with John Constantine? Or, at the very least, Klaus? We can’t imagine it’d end too well, and we desperately want to see them butt heads.

Next up to go to bat for the show was incredibly vocal fan William Shatner. Throughout Constantine’s first season, Shatner has offered commentary, support, and live-tweeted when the episodes were airing — and Daniel Cerone offered a very interesting role for Shatner to play.

Nelson, for those unfamiliar with the comics, is the man that eventually takes up the mantle of Doctor Fate. Fate’s helmet was seen during the show, amongst other Easter eggs, so it wouldn’t be so unbelievable that the Doctor would make an appearance. We couldn’t think of any way that Shatner’s steadfast support would be better rewarded.
And, finally, Mark Sheppard from fellow supernatural drama… Supernatural, offered his support — completing the trio of CW properties rallying behind Constantine.

Though Sheppard didn’t state his interest in making an appearance alongside the “petty dabbler in the Dark Arts,” the King of Hell himself certainly wouldn’t be out of place on an episode or two.
