Drew Barrymore is about to star in a new Netflix original called Santa Clarita Diet, where things get a little weird and a whole lot gross.

The synopsis or the new series reads:
Joel and Sheila Hammond are realtors leading vaguely discontented lives in the L.A. suburb of Santa Clarita, until Sheila goes through a dramatic change sending both their lives down a road of death and destruction… but in a good way.
The series, created and run by Victor Fresco, stars Barrymore as Sheila and Timothy Olyphant as Joel, her husband. The premise is certainly interesting, especially in an age where zombie shows are perhaps a little outdated. Santa Clarita Diet sounds like it could have a unique spin a la iZombie rather than a more traditional series like The Walking Dead.
Santa Clarita comes on the heels of other Netflix originals like The O.A. and A Series of Unfortunate Events. You can start binge-watching all 13 episodes of the series beginning February 3.
