Time to fire up Pokémon GO again! The game has just added several new Pokémon — only the second time it’s added to the original library of creatures available for catching.

Two weeks after adding one new Pokémon, Ditto, to the game, GO has added a few others from Gold and Silver, including Togepi and Pichu. These two and “several others” will be available beginning today, December 12. (The other new Pokémon are currently unknown, but we’ll update this article once we get the list.)

Update: Other new Pokémon reportedly include Cleffa, Igglypuff, Smoochum, Elekid, and Magby. Togetic is also available, but must be evolved from Togepi. In addition, Christmas Pikachu can be evolved into Christmas Raichu.

Unfortunately there’s a bit of a catch: These new Pokémon are only available through eggs. So grab some incubators and get walking!

This is disappointing because you may need to purchase some incubators if you really want to increase your chances of grabbing them all. Niantic is also not revealing which sized eggs will reveal the new creatures. Do you have to use the eggs that require 10 km of walking? Or can you use the smaller ones?

Finally, for the holidays, there are “limited edition Pikachu all over the world” available now through December 29. “These Pikachu will be wearing a festive hat to celebrate the season,” writes GO on their blog. Thankfully, these seem to be catchable without the use of an egg.

The new Pokémon come on the heels of Niantic teaming up with Starbucks and Sprint to turn thousands of their stores around the United States into Pokestops.

The app is also promising that more Pokémon will be added “over the next few months.”

Are you still playing Pokémon GO?

I recently picked it up again and will continue to play it for as long as they keep adding new Pokémon.
