Leslie Knope has always wanted to be a leading female politician (remember the PSA for her City Council campaign?), and in the Parks and Recreation season 5 premiere, she meets a few of the real leading ladies of Washington, D.C. Check out the video clip released below.

When we last left our heroes, Ben decided to move to Washington, D.C. (taking April with him), and Leslie Knope earned a spot on the Pawnee City Council. In the first episode of season 5 – which airs at 9:30 p.m. Thursday on NBC – Leslie and Andy head to Washington, D.C., and Leslie meets with some of the nation’s top senators: John McCain, Olympia Snowe and Barbara Boxer.

The video clip below shows her heartfelt, tear-jerking (literally) meeting with the two female senators she greatly admires.

What’s your favorite moment from the video? Is it when Leslie babbles and becomes awe-struck at the sight of the lovely lady senators, or is it the magical line at the beginning, when she describes the women at the party and says, “And they’re so tall … It’s like C-Span and Neiman Marcus had kids or something.” Now that is the Parks and Recreation wit we had been missing these past few months.

What will Andy and Leslie be like when they hit the streets of our nation’s capitol? The preview video released a few days ago hints that it will be quite a tour, but we have a few hopes for this trip: That Leslie will befriend the President or the first lady and end up running for President in the upcoming election (that’s totally feasible right? We’d vote for her), that Andy will take on his classic role of FBI and Secret Service agent Burt Macklin and lead the people of D.C. to believe that he really is a secret agent, and that Andy will somehow swim in the National Mall reflecting pool.

What hopes do you have for this season of Parks and Recreation? We cannot wait to see what they have in store this season.
