If early reviews are any indication, Paranoia, the film starring Harrison Ford, Gary Oldman, and Liam Hemsworth, is a very bad film, and the worst of Ford’s career.

When Paranoia cast Harrison Ford and Gary Oldman, it immediately captured our attention. The two actors are nothing short of legendary. They are, of course, completely different actors in every way, and any movie fan would have to be interested in seeing them on screen together again, something they haven’t done since they both starred in the 1997 film Air Force One.

On paper, the idea sounded good. While it would be easy for the corporate espionage thriller to go awry, the idea of the two stars together was exciting. When you add in the impressively charismatic Liam Hemsworth, you’ve got a cast that could make a movie very watchable.

When the Paranoia trailer hit, we saw that hopes shouldn’t be too high. It was clear there could be some problems, but the cast looked like it might carry the movie, even with a movie from a director whose best film is Legally Blonde. It even led to us listing it as a smaller summer movie not to miss.

Yeah, about that.

The reviews are starting to pile in, and they aren’t good. At the time this story is being written, out of 22 Paranoia reviews currently listed at Rotten Tomatoes, only one of them is positive.

This leaves the film at a 5% approval rating, a rating that is dropping with each negative review. This 5% is one of the lowest marks of the year, and never has Harrison Ford had a movie so ill received. The previous lowest rated movie of his career was Random Hearts, a film with a 15% approval rating.

The film is also close to being the worst rated film of Gary Oldman’s career too. His film Nobody’s Baby has a 0% approval rating, but it was only reviewed by five critics. Oldman’s next worst reviewed film was Red Riding Hood, a film whose 10% is better than the current rating of Paranoia.

Unless something dramatically changes in the reviews of the film that have yet to be published, Paranoia looks like it’ll be a doozy. But we’ll still probably see it just to see Ford and Oldman anyway.
