Warner Bros. have released the first images from their Peter Pan origin film, which stars Levi Miller as Pan and Hugh Jackman as Black Beard.

We’ve been hearing about Warner Bros. Peter Pan adaptation for quite some time, and some great actors have signed on, but today we finally have our first official shots from the film. Check out Hugh Jackman as Black Beard, and Levi Miller as Pan in the film’s first poster via EW:

Warner Bros. Peter Pan retelling is is looking solid, especially with Garrett Hedlund playing Hook, and Hugh Jackman playing Captain Blackbeard in the film.

Jackman definitely has a unique look as Captain Blackbeard, and visually the film is looking like it will definitely take us to the magical world in which Peter Pan has his adventures as a child. Although, director Joe Wright says, “This isn’t exactly the Neverland story you know.”

The film’s script has been written by Jason Fuchs, who has written for an array of TV shows including The Good Wife, Law and Order and The Sopranos. Berlanti Productions is producing the film with Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter from Warner Bros.

The film is set during WWII and follows the original tale of Peter Pan after he realizes he must save Neverland from the pirate Captain Blackbeard.

The new Pan film’s release date has been set for July 17, 2015. The origins tale will be released in 3D and 2D.
