Outlander is back on April 4, and now we’ve got a cool sneak peek.

When we last left Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) back in the fall, Claire was in a rather dangerous situation. Claire was held at knife-point by Captain Black Jack Randall (Tobias Menzies), and was moments away from likely enduring a sexual assault.

Fortunately, before Randall could commence his attack, Jamie appeared at the window of the room where Claire was kept hostage, aimed a pistol at Randall, and demanded that Randall, “Unhand my wife!”

Now, in the below clip, we get to see a bit of what is to come this Saturday. What’s really a treat for book fans is that it shows how Jamie came to Claire’s rescue. The novel version of Outlander is entirely from Claire’s perspective, so seeing first-hand from Jamie’s point-of-view, rather than hear what happened later, is a real thrill.

Behold, a verra special surprise for our devoted Outlanders! Watch this exclusive sneak peek of Outlander's mid-season premiere.

The clip starts with Jamie donning his plaid, which involves a bit of rolling on the floor, believe it or not, and is very true to later descriptions on the books. Next we see Jamie, with the help of his godfather Murtaugh (Duncan Lacroix), overpower a sentry at Fort William to learn of Claire’s exact location. A little evasion, coupled with a knock-out blow, followed by wall scaling, and Jamie is in the window threatening a very surprised Randall.

What’s really interesting is that Jamie barely looks exerted as he sits perched in the window, a window that is several stories above the churning waters below. He doesn’t remotely look scared of the height, or anything else for that matter.

Outlander is back this Saturday, April 4, 9:00pm ET/PT on Starz.
