Outlander fans can be happy that “Droughtlander’s” end is in sight. Season 2 is closer than you may think.

Last night on Twitter, Outlander’s executive producer Ron Moore held a brief Q & A with fans before his Giants’ game got underway. Moore is a longtime supporter of the San Francisco Giants, and he’s done Twitter Q & A’s before while waiting for things to heat up in the ballpark. There are some mild spoilers for people who are only TV fans, and who are trying to stay totally spoiler free, so proceed at your own risk.

Some of the questions are ones that most fans of the novels could have reasonably surmised the answer to, such as generalities this series concerning Roger and Bree.

Other questions were about some of the technical challenges of season 1 and the locations of season 2.

Moore is on a break because the production has just moved locations. Up until this season, the show has been shot entirely in the U.K. Recently, the production moved to the Czech Republic, specifically the city of Prague. Areas in the Czech Republic, such as Prague, resemble Paris of the 1740’s much more than present day Paris does. Whereas the interiors of Paris will still be, and have already been shot on a soundstage back in Scotland, many of the exteriors will be shot in the Czech Republic.

Local Czech fans were delighted to have gotten a glimpse of stars Sam Heughan (Jamie Fraser) and Caitriona Balfe (Claire Fraser) in costume. As usual, the costumes under the direction of Terry Dresbach are rich in details as the photos below from show. More Photos can be viewed at Outlander Cizinka.

At long last, we finally got to this question concerning the air date for season 2. This is the one question that has been on fans’ minds since the series wrapped last year.

Now, if we take a look at the Starz line-up there are a few things to consider. Da Vinci’s Demons has not been renewed for another season. Its final season will begin airing in October and end around Christmas.

Black Sails has traditionally started its run in early January. Its first season had 8 episodes, but every season thereafter has had 10. Assuming it begins, as usual, the fourth week of January, that would mean it would conclude its run by the last week in March. This would make April the more likely start for Outlander assuming that the Black Sails timing stays the same. If we had to place a bet, we’d go with April 2 or 9 as the start date of series 2, but this has not, as of yet been confirmed by Starz.
