Once Upon a Time actress Meghan Ory will be starring opposite Josh Holloway in the new drama series Intelligence, which premieres fall 2013.

Good (and bad?) news for the Little Reds of the Once Upon a Time fandom: Deadline has learned that Meghan Ory has landed the role of the female lead in Intelligence, a new CBS drama created by Michael Seitzman.

Lost actor Josh Holloway has been cast as the lead character Gabriel Black, an intelligence officer who was formerly a Navy SEAL. Intelligence is based on the upcoming novel Dissident by John Dixon.

Now, Once Upon a Time fans might be left scratching their heads at this news: ahead of the season 2 premiere, was announced that Meghan Ory had been promoted to a series regular, and even though she hasn’t appeared in every episode this year, the first part of the season saw her character take on a more prominent role as she had to come to terms with the reawakening of her wolf side.

The fact that she will be one of the lead characters on Intelligence (if CBS picks up the pilot and commissions a full season) might be bad news for Red fans; at the least, we have to assume that she won’t be a regular on Once Upon a Time next season, and perhaps her character is even getting killed off, leading Ory to look for work elsewhere.

However, although Once Upon a Time and Intelligence are on different networks, they are both produced by ABC Studios, so it would be possible for her to keep starring on both shows (although her commitment to Intelligence would be prioritised because of her lead character billing).

What do you think this casting news means for Ory’s future on Once Upon a Time? And are you looking forward to seeing what kind of chemistry she has with Josh Holloway on Intelligence?
