Heads up, Tarantino fans — it sounds like we could be getting more Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.

Quentin Tarantino’s latest film may have clocked in at a whopping two hours and 40 minutes, but it sounds as though the director left tons of footage on the cutting room floor.

In fact, the director cut so much out of the film, he’s thinking of putting the unused footage back into the film and releasing an extended version of Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, formatted for the small screen.

Word that Tarantino is contemplating turning his latest film into a mini series comes from none other than Once Upon A Time In Hollywood star Brad Pitt.

During an interview with the New York Times, Pitt was asked to clarify rumors that a mini series was something Tarantino was toying with.

“Yeah, he’s talked about it,” said Pitt. “It’s a pretty arousing idea.”

As Pitt spoke about earlier in his interview, Tarantino has found success in releasing extended versions of his films before.

Most recently, the director played around with this format for his previous film, The Hateful Eight, which was reformatted and released as a Netflix mini series earlier this year. The surprise mini series hit Netflix back in April and was comprised of four episodes with an average runtime of 50 minutes each.

As with The Hateful Eight, there’s no denying Tarantino’s got the footage to play around with when it comes to Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.

In fact, as Indie Wire points out, the director’s first cut of his latest film came in at a run time of four hours and 20 minutes.

As for Pitt, like many other Tarantino fans, he’s all for repurposing the unused footage and turning Once Upon A Time In Hollywood into a mini series.

“It’s almost the best of both worlds: You have the cinema experience that exists, but you can actually put more content in the series format,” continued Pitt.

We’ll be curious to find out if Quentin Tarantino follows through with his plans to turn Once Upon A Time In Hollywood into a mini series!
