Most of us have seen some incarnation of the famous holiday ballet, The Nutcracker, and are familiar with the story of Clara’s fantastic journey into the Land of Snowflakes, the Land of Flowers, and the Land of Sweets alongside her gallant, Nutcracker escort. Disney has just released a second trailer for the film, and in addition to giving us a better understanding of the plot, we also get to see a better look into the magical world Clara travels into.

While The Nutcracker ballet always had a sort of Narnia angle to it with the story centering around a child discovering and exploring a magical world, this trailer really gives off even more Narnia and Alice in Wonderland vibes. Clara (Mackenzie Foy) isn’t just passively exploring the wonderful sights and sounds in this magical world, but she’s actively taking part to help the Sugar Plum Fairy (Keira Knightley) fight against Mother Ginger (Helen Mirren) to protect this beautiful, magical universe that Clara’s mother helped create.

And don’t worry, if you can’t imagine seeing any story surrounding The Nutcracker without any ballet, rest assured that world-class ballet dancers Misty Copeland and Sergei Polunin are in the film to get you your ballet fix. Though we don’t get a good look at Polunin, a peek at Copeland’s dancing can be seen in the trailer.

The Nutcracker and the Four Realms is looking more and more to be a really fresh, exciting continuation of a story that so many of us have grown up knowing. It is sure to be a fun, holiday adventure that the entire family can enjoy together. You can adventure to the Four Realms yourself when the movie hits theaters on November 2, 2018.
