News spoilers for The Newsroom season 2 have leaked, revealing an event that will drive Maggie to confront a particular person in 2×02.

E! Online’s Spoiler Chat has revealed some new details about the upcoming season of Aaron Sorkin’s The Newsroom:

Expecting a new, more put-together Maggie in season two? In episode two of the new season, an embarrassing video of Maggie will be posted online by a young blogger, Erica. And yes, we will see Maggie confront her. Bonus: They are currently casting actors to play reporters on Mitt Romney’s press tour bus. 2012 Election, Newsroom-style is coming, y’all!

This doesn’t really make any character changes clear. Will Maggie be upfront and professional when confronting the new girl, or will we see the usual arm-flailing verbally-incoherent rant from her? Only time will tell. We haven’t heard any casting news for Erica, but as we now know, the actor set to play the Romney reporter is Grace Gummer, daughter of Meryl Streep.

While we can think of many embarrassing moments for Maggie straight from season 1, we have a feeling this will be something entirely new.

What do you think the video could be?

‘The Newsroom’ season 2

In other season 2 casting news, showrunner Aaron Sorkin has previously confirmed the return of season 1 guest stars Adam Arkin and David Krumholtz, while Rosemarie DeWitt and Patton Oswalt have also been added in recurring roles. The first episode of season 2, the title of which is yet to be announced, will air on HBO in June 2013. The first spoilers for episode 2×01 and season 2 were recently released.
