Russian doll vet Leslye Headland is officially gearing up to tackle the world of Star Wars for Disney+!

According to Variety, Disney+ has tapped Leslye Headland to spearhead a brand new Star Wars series coming down the pipeline on the streaming service.

Headland is likely best known for her work on Netflix’s breakout sci-fi series, Russian doll, starring Orange Is The New Black’s Natasha Lyonne.

Headland serves as the co-creator, showrunner, and executive producer on the Emmy Award nominated series, which centers on a young woman stuck in a loop where she keeps dying and returning to the party she was at on her last night alive.

As with most Star Wars projects coming down the pipeline at Disney and Lucasfilm, the studio is keeping tight lipped on specifics surrounding the plot of the forthcoming series for now.

That being said, Variety also reports that a source close to the project has revealed that Hedland’s show is set to be a “female centric-series.” The outlet is also reporting that the series would exist in a completely different timeline to that of other Star Wars projects that are already in existence.

Leslye Headland isn’t the only one who’s reportedly got an intergalactic series in the works over at Disney+.

In addition to The Mandalorian, Disney has quite a few Star Wars series in development behind the scenes.

One, of course is the buzz worthy Obi-Wan Kenobi series, which will find Ewan McGregor returning to reprise his role as the fan favorite Jedi master. The other, is of course, a series starring Diego Luna, who will once again reprise his role as Cassian Andor from Rogue OneThe Mandalorian. You’ll be able to start streaming that beginning on May 4.
