A new Scream season 2 trailer gives us more footage than ever before of what’s next for our heroes — and possible villains.

The new Scream trailer gives us great insight into what’s coming next. There’s going to be blood. There’s going to be gore. And there’s going to be lots and lots of screaming.

Emma is home after a little time away following that epic Scream season 1 finale. She worked on her issues, and she’s New and Improved. And she doesn’t want her (surviving) friends to treat her any differently.

It doesn’t take long for that classic ringer to come back in full force, only this time it’s Audrey who’s on the receiving end of the phone call. Considering she was the killer’s accomplice in season 1, the shock on her face is warranted. But whoever is calling her knows what she did last year, and now she’s become the hunted, too.

The ominous message, “They’re all going to die,” appears on screen, which is not a comforting thought. We then hear Noah insist that someone helped Piper last year, and knowing him, he’s going to keep digging until he finds out. Will Audrey’s relationship with him mean he won’t be on the chopping block, or will it just allow her to get to him before he spills the beans to anyone else?

Noah’s research brings him around to Troy James, Brandon’s brother, and I have to wonder if this is going to be the next “ghost story” they’re going to tell on the show. Emma’s dreamed of that creepy barn before, and a little girl playing in the guts of a pig.

Uh, gross.

The trailer shows off some of those new characters we learned about recently, and it paints the survivors as possible killers themselves. The most disturbing bit? The trailer ends with Emma’s dialogue being modified to sound like the killer’s.

She said she had some issues, but did she truly get over everything that happened to her last year?

We’ll find out beginning on Monday, May 30 when Scream season 2 premieres at 11:00 p.m. on MTV.
