July is here already, and despite a lot of big shows being off air on traditional TV, you can always count on Netflix to come through with a slew of new material. Here are the new shows, movies, and documentaries streaming on Netflix in July 2019!
The summer season is in full swing with plenty of days where you’d rather stay close to your couch, TV, and air conditioning than face the stifling heat waiting outside your door. And, there are more than enough old-school and fresh things on Netflix to occupy your time.
As usual, the list is super long with everything from interesting documentaries to highly-anticipated TV shows to movies that will take you back in time, but there are a few things that stand out from the crowd.
Here are the new movies and shows streaming on Netflix in July 2019 that you need to add to your “must-watch” list:
‘Stranger Things 3’
This is obviously at the top of almost everyone’s list. The Hawkins crew is back for a third round of Upside Down drama, teenage arguments, and more 80’s references than your brain can handle.
It’s felt like 84 years since we saw El and Mike kiss at the Snowball dance and now fans will get a taste of what goes down during a small-town Indiana summer. Stranger Things 3 hits Netflix on July 4.

‘The Hangover’
This bachelor weekend gone horribly wrong was a big hit when it came out back in 2009. The magic of this quartet was never quite duplicated in the sequels but the first one was hilarious enough to make it a forever comedy classic.
Relive their ridiculous night in Las Vegas when The Hangover arrived on July 1.
‘Taco Chronicles’
Do you love tacos? Do you want to learn more about the history of the magnificent food?
If so, Taco Chronicles will take you through the history of tacos, their importance to Mexican culture, and how tacos vary around the world. Taco Chronicles debuts on July 12 so prepare to celebrate (sans appropriation of course).
‘Orange Is The New Black’
It’s the end of a wild era. Orange is the New Black stunned everyone with it’s based-on-a-true-story plot about a privileged White woman whose past lands her in prison with far more interesting people.
The show has been a major hit for Netflix but season 7 will wrap up the inmates stories for good. OITNB’s final stand is coming on July 26.
Disney’s ‘The Princess and the Frog’
It’s been 10 years since Tiana became the first Black Disney princess and now a new generation of fans (as well as older ones) can relive the magic of this New Orleans tale of triumph, survival, and social class all over again.
Prepare to sing along, smile, and go back to your slightly younger days on July 19 when the movie becomes available.
‘Workin’ Moms’
The Canadian show about several moms who are trying to survive the adulting grind (including other annoying moms and constant guilt) is one of the more accurate representations of motherhood on TV.
It’s snarky, fun, and sometimes downright heartbreaking. Workin’ Moms wrapped up its third season on TV, but Season 2 is coming to Netflix for US audiences on July 25.
