Knives Out fans itching to catch the sequels will have to head over to Netflix to do so.

Deadline reports that Netflix is gearing up to drop upwards of $400 million to secure the rights to Knives Out 2 and Knives Out 3.

The aforementioned sequels are set to serve as follow-ups to director Rian Johnson’s hit 2019 murder mystery, which found Daniel Craig leading a star-studded cast as detective Benoit Blanc.

The first film was produced by MRC and distributed via Lionsgate before going on to rake in a whopping $311.4 million at the box office, despite being made with a $40 million budget. The murder mystery also scored Johnson a nod at the Oscars in the Best Original Screenplay category.

Fans will undoubtedly already know that production on Knives Out 2 is well under way. In fact, filming on the highly anticipated sequel is set to start up out in Greece on June 28.

Netflix, however, was able to secure the rights to the next two installments of the burgeoning franchise due to the fact that Knives Out is owned and licensed on a picture by picture basis by Johnson and his producing partner Ram Bergman.

Both Johnson and Bergman are back to serve as director, and producer, respectively on Knives Out 2 and Knives Out 3. In addition, Johnson will pen the script for both sequels.

Also on board to return is Daniel Craig, who will reprise his role as detective Benoit Blanc. The rest of the cast for the sequels has not yet been set.
