Natasha Lyonne is teaming up with director Rian Johnson for a brand new series coming down the pipeline at NBC’s streaming platform, Peacock.
According to Variety, Orange is the New Black vet Natasha Lyonne has officially signed on to star in a brand new mystery series spearheaded director Rian Johnson.
Johnson, whose previous credits include helming Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Knives Out, will serve as writer, director, and executive producer on the series.
Unfortunately, fans of Johnson and Lyonne will have to sit tight while we wait on more details. Currently, all those involved are keeping the plot of the mystery series under wraps.
One thing we do know is that Peacock has ordered 10 episodes of the one-hour drama to start.
In a statement announcing the project, Johnson spoke of how excited he is to team up with Loynne who, in addition to starring, will also serve as an executive producer on the project.
“I’m very excited to dig into the type of fun, character driven, case-of-the-week mystery goodness I grew up watching,” said Johnson. “It’s my happy place. Having Natasha as a partner in crime is a dream, and we’ve found the perfect home at Peacock.”
Others involved behind the scenes on the producing front include Ram Bergman, Nena Rodrigue, Maya Rudolph, and Danielle Renfrew Behrens.
Peacock has yet to divulge when we can expect to see the series debut, but fans of Rian Johnson and Natasha Lyonne won’t be left wanting for new material to sink their teeth into.
Coming up next, Johnson is gearing up to work on the highly anticipated sequel to Knives Out.
As for Lyonne, she’s busy working on season 2 of the Netflix breakout hit, Russian Doll.
