Never Have I Ever season 2 has found its newest cast member in none other than Common.

It looks like we’ll be meeting some new faces when the next chapter of Devi’s (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) story unfolds in Never Have I Ever season 2.

On Wednesday (April 14), Netflix announced that Academy Award winner, Common has officially joined the cast of the coming of age dramedy’s second season.

The rapper and actor joins the cast of the Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher created series in the role of Dr. Chris Jackson.

Per Netflix, Dr. Chris Jackson is described as both suave and debonair. He also happens to be a fellow dermatologist who works in the same building as Devi’s mom, Nalini (Poorna Jagannathan). Dr. Chris has a high end practice with some big time celebrity clients and while his impressive roster of clientele might be impressive to most, it’s not impressive to Nalini.

Common isn’t the only newcomer to the cast.

Last year, it was also announced that Fresh off the Boat vet Megan Suri has also signed on to appear in Never Have I Ever season 2.

Sure will take on the role of Aneesa— a new Indian student who transfers to Sherman Oaks High and subsequently ends up posing an immediate threat to Devi.

Common and Suri join returning cast members Maitreyi Ramakrishnan (Devi), Ramona Young (Eleanor), Lee Rodriguez (Fabiola), Poorna Jagannathan (Nalini), Richa Moorjani (Kamala), Jaren Lewison (Ben), and Darren Barnet (Paxton), all of whom are on board to reprise their roles.

Never Have I Ever season 2 is due to premiere via Netflix in July 2021.
