The Get Down Part II is officially arriving in April, and now we have a trailer with brand new footage from the show.
The trailer for the second part of Netflix’s most expensive show to date starts off by recapping the first half of season 1. Once it gets past the preliminaries, however, it offers us a great look at what’s to come. Check it out below:
The synopsis for the show reads, “A mythic saga of dreams, desire, soul and sound, The Get Down chronicles the epic musical evolution from disco to hip hop that defined 1970s New York City — as told by the relationships, struggles, triumphs, and artistry of the South Bronx teens who saw it through. Part II streaming April 7.”
It looks like both Ezekiel and Mylene will continue to rise in hip-hop and disco, respectively, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll get to rise together. Back when the first part finished airing, I asked whether or not the series allowed the characters to have a happy ending, and this trailer certainly keeps that question alive.
Since The Get Down Part I aired, Justice Smith was cast in Jurassic World 2 and Skylan Brooks was cast as Chubs in The Darkest Minds.
