Looks like Ryan Reynolds could soon be teaming with Netflix to bring viewers an adaptation of one of the most iconic 1980s video games in existence.

Netflix is gearing up to give Dragon’s Lair the live-action adaptation treatment— and they could be doing so in partnership with none other than Ryan Reynolds.

According to Deadline, Reynolds is currently in talks to both star in the live-action Dragon’s Lair adaptation, in addition to serving as a producer on the project.

The Deadpool vet’s involvement would find the actor continuing his partnership with the online streaming giant. Previously, he’s starred in director Michael Bay’s 2019 Netflix Original, 6 Underground.

Ryan Reynolds is also currently gearing up to star opposite Dwayne Johnson and Gal Gadot in the action comedy, Red Notice, due out via Netflix next year.

As for Dragon’s Lair, Netflix’s forthcoming adaptation is of course based off of the hit 1983 video game series of the same name.
Created by Rick Dyer, Dragon’s Layer gained notoriety for its revolutionary use of animated sequences, done for the game by none other than ex-Disney vet, Don Bluth.

The game follows the adventures of Dirk the Daring— a knight on a quest to save Princess Daphne from a villainous dragon named Singe, whose got her locked away in Mordroc’s castle.

Others involved on the project behind the camera include Scary Stories To Tell in the Dark vets Daniel and Kevin Hageman, who will be writing the script for Netflix’s Dragon’s Lair. As of this moment, there doesn’t seem to be a director attached to helm the adaptation.

Currently, there’s no word on when we can expect to see the live-action Dragon’s Lair adaptation to debut via Netflix.
