Modern Family sees Gloria’s mom Pilar, and sister, Sonia, travel from Columbia to come and see Gloria’s new born baby.

Modern Family welcomed a new born baby in last week’s episode, ‘Party Crasher’, and with that comes the flocking of the family as always. We reported that Elizabeth Peña would be guest starring in this season, and will be no other than Gloria’s mother, Pilar. We’ll also meet Sonia, Gloria’s sister, played by The Closer’s Stephanie Beatriz.

Now that the baby is here, hopefully we’ll learn more about the baby and more importantly what the baby boy’s name is. And, we’re sure that Pilar and Sonia will have a definite say in the matter.

Executive producer Christopher Lloyd commented, “There’s a bit of a competitive relationship between Gloria and her sister that will be fun. The mother is the formidable, domineering character in the family, and has a complicated relationship with Jay (Ed O’Neill). I’m not sure she’s ever completely accepted Jay, and they lock horns in the episode.”

Meanwhile, Phil will be looking to help the Dunphy kids’ problems, but, in typical Phil fashion, there will be warped method to his madness. Lily continues to be the nightmare child that Cameron and Mitchell never had in mind. Lily’s terrible habits are a shining theme in this season, with Cam and Mitch seemingly on the brink of a breakdown. Let’s hope they don’t, and turn Lily into the angel she really is.

The gallery also gives away that Modern Family will be visiting a church service, and most likely to christen the baby boy. What could possibly go wrong?
