The first full-length Mockingjay, Part 2 trailer is here, and it doesn’t disappoint!

After making its debut at San Diego Comic-Con earlier this month, Lionsgate has released the first major look at The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2 onto the internet. The 2 1/2 minute Mockingjay trailer wows viewers as Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence), Commander Paylor (Patina Miller), and the rest of District 13 plan their attack on the Capitol.

Viewers also get to see President Snow (Donald Sutherland) ominously warning Katniss of the mistake she’s making.

We love this trailer because it’s promising us a lot of action. Most readers will agree that Suzanne Collins’ Mockingjay book felt rushed during the war, so by splitting the book into two films, Mockingjay, Part 2 should offer fans a greater final battle.

The finale is clearly a battle between Snow and Katniss, as this trailer reiterates. There are several delicious interactions between the two characters. “I’ve been watching you, and you watching me,” Snow says to Katniss. “My dear Ms. Everdeen, make no mistake. The game is coming to its end.”

There are also a couple of juicy first-looks in this preview, including this shot of Tigris (played by Eugenie Bondurant):

We hope this trailer isn’t overselling the war — we want it to be as action-packed as this preview is promising! What do you think of the trailer? Hit the comments to let us know!

Mockingjay, Part 2 opens in theaters this November.

Although the film series is coming to an end as we know it later this year, things are only just beginning to heat up in The Hunger Games fandom. An exhibition opened in New York City earlier this year, and Hunger Games attractions are coming to at least one theme park in the near future. There are also rumors of a spinoff film which may look at the Hunger Games played by the earlier victors.
