Mindy Kaling is heading to HBO Max for her next project!

According to Variety, actress Mindy Kaling has officially signed on to star in the streamer’s forthcoming adaptation of the best selling novel, Good in Bed.

Based on author Jennifer Weiner’s book of the same name, Good in Bed follows Cannie Shapiro— a journalist living in Philadelphia and trying to juggle her up-and-coming career with her personal life, which includes self esteem issues, a poor relationship with her father, and an overbearing mother.

In addition to starring in the forthcoming book to film adaptation, Kaling will also be serving as a producer on the project via her Kaling International production company.

Behind the camera, Liz Sarnoff has been tasked with adapting Weiner’s book into a script for the feature film.

Kaling’s involvement with Good in Bed marks the Emmy Award nominee’s second project that’s currently in development at HBO Max.

In addition, Kaling is also in the process of co-writing the streamer’s upcoming comedy series, The Sex Lives of College Girls.

Currently, there’s no word on when we can expect to see Good in Bed premiere via HBO Max, but Mindy Kaling fans can rest easy knowing the actress and writer has a ton of content coming down the pipeline.

Notably, Kaling is also gearing up to get back to work on season two of her hit coming of age dramedy, Never Have I Ever. The Netflix series, which debuted back in April, was officially picked up for a second season back in July.
