Steven Spielberg ’s semi-autobiographical film has added Once Upon a Time…In Hollywood vet Julia Butters to its growing cast.

Update (6/16/21): According to Variety, actress Julia Butters is the latest to join the cast of the untitled Steven Spielberg project coming down the pipeline at Amblin.

For her part, Butters is set to take on the role of the character inspired on Steven Spielberg’s very own sister.

The young actress joins a star-studded cast comprised of Michelle Williams, Paul Dano, and Seth Rogen.

Julia Butters is no stranger to working with Hollywood A-Listers. Most recently, she appeared in the critically acclaimed Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood where she shared an unforgettable scene with Oscar winner Leonardo DiCaprio.

Update (4/8/21): According to Variety, actor Paul Dano is the latest notable name to join the cast of director Steven Spielberg’s next film.

Spielberg’s next directorial endeavor over at Amblin doesn’t yet have a title, but the film is said to be set in the late 1950s and early 1960s in Arizona. It’ll be loosely based off of the Academy Award winner’s own life growing up in the state, although there’s still no word on just how much of the story will be autobiographical.

For his part, Dano has been tapped to take on the role of the character loosely based on Spielberg’s own father, Arnold.

The star of Matt Reeve’s The Batman is the latest big name star to join the cast of the untitled Spielberg project. Others who’ve previously been tapped to star in the semi-autobiographical film include Seth Rogen and Michelle Williams.

According to Deadline, actor Seth Rogen is the latest notable name to join the cast of director Steven Spielberg’s next film.

For his part, Rogen has signed on to play a character that is loosely based off of Spielberg’s favorite uncle from his childhood.

Today’s casting news comes hot on the heels of word that Academy Award nominee, Michelle Williams, has also joined the cast of the movie.

That Williams had signed on to star in the untitled Spielberg picture was first announced on March 9.

Per Deadline, Williams is set to play a character inspired by the acclaimed director’s own mother

Behind the camera, Spielberg won’t just be sitting in the director’s chair. In addition, the director is also set to team up with Tony Kushner to co-write the script for the untitled movie.

Spielberg and Kushner are no strangers to working together. The frequent collaborators have previously teamed for such films as Munich and Lincoln.

Their next joint big screen venture comes with the highly anticipated adaptation of West Side Story for which Spielberg served as director, and Kushner served as screenwriter.

Currently, the plan is for Steven Spielberg’s untitled semi-autobiographical feature to hit the big screen sometime next year.

Meanwhile, fans of the director can look forward to catching West Side Story in theaters this Christmas.
