The Disney+ series Love, Simon has added another member to its ensemble cast.

According to The Wrap, actress Rachel Naomi Hilson has officially been cast in a recurring role on Disney+ forthcoming series, Love, Simon.

As with the 2018 film of the same name, the upcoming series is also based off of Becky Albertalli’s New York Times bestselling novel titled Simon vs. The Homosapien Agenda.

As for Hilson (who previously portrayed young Beth on This Is Us), she’ll be playing a character named Mia — a role which was previously reported to be played by Johny Sequoyah.

Mia is the best friend of main character Victor (Annabelle Comes Home’s Michael Cimino) and is described as being a “whip-smart friend with a quick and easy laugh.”

Hison and Cimino aren’t the only actors attached to the upcoming Disney+ show. Other previously announced cast members include James Martinez, Isabella Ferreria, Mateo Fernandez, Bebe Wood, George Sear, Anthony Turpel, and Mason Gooding.

Finally, Ana Oritz has signed on to portray Victor’s mother, Isabel.

Set in the same universe as the hit coming-of-age film, the Love, Simon series centers on Victor (Cimino) — a new student at Creekwood High School.

According to the official synopsis for the series, Victor is “on his own journey to self-discovery, facing challenges at home, adjusting to a new city, and struggling with his sexual orientation. When it all seems too much, he reaches out to Simon to help him navigate the ups and downs of high school.”

Spearheaded by Love, Simon movie scribes Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger, there’s currently no word on when we can expect the show to premiere via Disney+.
