If you’re a fan of a warm and fuzzy (and slightly cheesy) Christmas movie, Lifetime has you covered for 2019.

The made-for-tv Christmas movie — in all its low-budget, saccharine and heartwarming glory — has become a modern Christmas tradition.

Long a staple of such channels as Hallmark and Lifetime, we’ve recently seen streaming sites and network channels like Netflix, Freeform and Ion craft their own Christmas films for us to enjoy with a steaming cup of hot chocolate and the ability to prolong our suspension of disbelief.

We’re a fan of the cheesy Christmas movie here at Hypable — from old favorites to unconventional picks to the cheesiest Hallmark flicks.

So we were thrilled when EW reported earlier this year that Hallmark would release a staggering 40 original Christmas movies during the 2019 holiday season, and are even more thrilled to learn that Lifetime has recently ordered a record 28 Christmas movies for 2019.

This is a drastic increase from the channel’s 18 movie output, and while they’re still lagging behind Christmas movie champion Hallmark, they do look to be making up some ground.

Two of the 28 films will feature the familiar faces of Melissa Joan Hart and Tia Mowry-Hardrict.

Melissa Joan Hart will play an event coordinator mixed up with some romantic shenanigans involving a handsome widower in Christmas Reservations, while Tia Mowry-Hardrict will star in A Very Vintage Christmas, which combines an antique shop, a box of romantic souvenirs and the search for the mysterious owner of said box.

No word yet on what the rest of the films will be about, but we’re sure they’ll feature snow, a montage of Christmas activities, at least one scenario that will force us to suspend disbelief and a lot of warm and fuzzy feelings.
