Joy to the world! There will be a record number of Hallmark Christmas movies this year.
Christmas came early when EW reported that Hallmark will air a record 40 original Christmas movies in 2019. This beats the already record number released in 2018 by two. That’s three whole hours of extra Hallmark Christmas cheer!

Twenty-four of these movies will air on the Hallmark Channel while the other 16 will air on the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries network. The holiday season will start delightfully early this year, with the movies beginning to air on October 25. That’s when the network’s 10th annual Countdown to Christmas will begin. However, you can also expect one even earlier! Hallmark is set to debut Keepsake Christmas in July, as part of their “halfway to Christmas campaign.”
One newly-released title for a 2019 Hallmark Christmas movie is A Family Under the Christmas Tree, which is about an extreme sports photographer who becomes interested in her neighbor after returning home to take care of her grandmother for Christmas.
We also know that two of these movies will be Hanukkah themed, and EW previously reported what three of the Christmas movies will be. These include The Christmas Song starring Kristen Chenoweth, Holiday for Heroes and a film produced by The Voice’s Blake Shelton.
