Warner Bros. has finally found its Peter Pan. Actor Levi Miller has been cast as Pan alongside Hugh Jackman, Rooney Mara and Garrett Hedlund.

Variety reports that actor Levi Miller has been cast in the titular role of Warner Bros.’ Pan. The young actor is known for his work in Great Adventures (2012), Akiva (2010) and Fox’s Terra Nova (2011).

Miller appears to be an untapped talent, which is a good start to creating a believable Pan. A somewhat unknown actor may be more believable as the fantastical character than someone who has seen a lot of screen time.

Warner Bros. Peter Pan retelling is finally beginning to take shape, with Garrett Hedlund signing on as Hook. Hugh Jackman has also signed on to play Captain Blackbeard in the film.

The film’s script has been written by Jason Fuchs, who has written for an array of TV shows including The Good Wife, Law and Order and The Sopranos. Berlanti Productions is producing the film with Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter from Warner Bros.

The film is set during WWII and follows the original tale of Peter Pan after he realizes he must save Neverland from the pirate Captain Blackbeard.

The new Peter Pan film’s release date has been set for July 17, 2015. The Pan origins tale will be released in 3D and 2D.
