Laurie won’t be the only Strode we’ll see when the Halloween franchise returns to the big screen!

According to Deadline, actress Judy Greer is officially in talks to star in the upcoming horror film reboot.

Greer is set to play Karen Strode, the daughter of Laurie Strode, who many familiar with the franchise will recognize as one of the original characters from the first Halloween movie.

Greer’s casting follows the announcement made by Universal Pictures just last month which confirmed that Jamie Lee Curtis would officially be returning to reprise her role as Laurie Strode.

“Same porch. Same clothes. Same issues. 40 years later,” tweeted Curtis shortly after her casting was announced. “Headed back to Haddonfield one last time for Halloween.”

We’re sure horror fans will be interested to see how Karen and Laurie fair against the sinister serial killer Michael Myers. More importantly, it’ll be interesting to see if both of the ladies escape his clutches unscathed.

The upcoming reboot is being spearheaded by director David Gordon Green, who has teamed up with Danny McBride to pen the script for the upcoming horror film.

Halloween marks one of just many projects coming down the pipeline for Greer, who’s past credits include Arrested Development, It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia, 13 Going on 30, 27 Dresses, and more.

Most notably, the actress is also set to appear in Clint Eastwood’s 15:17 to Paris, Richard Linklater’s Where’d You Go Bernadette, and Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Universal Pictures’ Halloween reboot is set to hit theaters in October of 2018.
