The Parks and Recreation season 5’s first guest star, Senator John McCain, and our favorite sullen lady, April Ludgate-Dwyer (Aubrey Plaza), were interviewed (separately) on the set of Season 5 in Washington DC. Check out both videos below, and get pumped for the season, which airs at 9:30 p.m. this Thursday.

Parks and Recreation is back this week, and to get you jazzed about this season we have two delightful videos. But how could you not be excited for a season that promises the following: Ben moving to Washington with April, Leslie becoming an elected official and guest stars joining the cast such as U.S. Senators John McCain, Olympia Snowe and Barbara Boxer, according to Zap2It.

We are most nervous about Ben and Leslie’s strained long-distance relationship. How will they cope? We thought they were together forever, and now they both have to go be successful and wonderful on their own. Curse their ambitious spirits, we want them together!

Our fears are mildly alleviated by the thought of Leslie interacting with some of the most well-known U.S. senators, such as Senator John McCain.

In McCain’s video below, he talks of how he has been a fan of Amy Poehler since his appearance on Saturday Night Live, how he loves the show and how his other favorite guest appearance was 24.

In Plaza’s video, she discusses the start of Season 5, how Andy and April deal with the distance, and how Plaza has left notes around the White House for President Obama. What could be better?

What are your thoughts on the two videos, and what part of Season 5 are you most excited about?
