Pottermore has Hogwarts and Ilvermorny sorting quizzes, but when is J.K. Rowling going to release that long-fabled (wink wink) Patronus quiz?

Harry Potter fans have been able to find their Hogwarts house on Pottermore since 2012 (even though the proper sorting quiz wasn’t introduced until the site got revamped in early 2016).

Ever since that first taste of an official quiz by J.K. Rowling, we’ve been clamoring for more Wizarding World identity content — specifically Patronus, Animagus and Boggart quizzes.

All the way back in February 2015, Rowling confirmed that a Patronus quiz was coming to Pottermore. But since then, we’ve heard or seen nothing to suggest we’d ever actually get to see it.

And the launch of an Ilvermorny sorting quiz last week didn’t exactly instill us with much confidence that we’d learn which animal represented our source of hope and courage any time soon.

On this week’s MuggleCast episode, the hosts even went so far as to predict that we’d get sorted into the other magical schools revealed by J.K. Rowling before we’d get our JKR-assigned Patronus.

But, just maybe, the Patronus quiz is coming sooner than we thought. On Twitter, Rowling reassured a worried fan that, “You can and you will” get the quiz on Pottermore:

Since the Patronus quiz would technically be beast-related, it might not be too unreasonable to expect it before the release of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them in November.

Perhaps Jo has been holding it back specifically to tie it into the release of the new movie?
