Great news for non-British Harry Potter fans! The official eighth story, the Cursed Child stageplay, is (probably) going on the road!

Saturday morning, J.K. Rowling released a tweet that’s probably gonna set the Harry Potter fandom ablaze: A very near-confirmation that there are plans in place to bring Harry Potter and the Cursed Child to other countries:

The play, which opens this summer in London, follows Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley and their kids 19 years after the end of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, picking up after the epilogue.

The demand to see this in London has been so huge, the team behind it had to add extra dates on the day the ticket sales opened, and it still sold out years in advance.

Basically, this is U.K.’s version of Hamilton. Everyone and their mother is gonna want to see this play, and we’re glad to see that Rowling wants to help make that happen.

“In due course” could mean anything, of course, and international fans likely have to wait a long time before the play comes to their countries.

Luckily you don’t have to be a London native to find out the plot of the play first-hand. The Cursed Child script book is hitting shelves this summer as well, giving all Potter fans a chance to “read” the eighth Harry Potter story. Still, seeing it acted out on stage will be a unique experience that Potter fans won’t want to miss.

We’re also interested to find out what exactly she means by “other countries.” Presumably that means she’s not just talking about America! It’d be nice for international fans to finally get something to look forward to as well.

Here’s the official synopsis for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child:

It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children.

While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.
