My friend recently started watching Doctor Who featuring the eleventh doctor, Matt Smith, and she thinks that Steven Moffat is sexist. She’s reached the end of series 6, now, and she firmly believes so.

Thing is, she’s not one of those people who thinks that everything is sexist, or racist, or whatever. So, I was surprised, because in my opinion, Moffat isn’t sexist at all.

As far as I can see, Amy and River (and Madge) are strong, independent female leads. However, I looked it up, and there is apparently a large community online who believe that Moffat is sexist.

Now I’m not sure. I sort of see the sexism, but only because (I feel) people are reading too much into the show than is there. However, I trust the Hypable fanbase more than any other, so I’m putting the question to you:
