You’re not hearing things, Taylor Swift fans! The Reputation singer definitely sampled Right Said Fred’s iconic cult classic “I’m Too Sexy” on her new single “Look What You Made Me Do.” Now, the British Europop band is speaking out about how it all went down!

Speaking to Vulture on the Friday after “Look What You Made Me Do” was released to the world, the members of Right Said Fred revealed that they had no idea Swift was interested in sampling their iconic ’90s hit until just two days ago.

Additionally, though all three members of the band received co-writing credits on Swift’s new single, they also revealed that they had to wait to hear the track along with the rest of the world.

So how did Swift and her long-time producer/friend and Bleachers frontman Jack Antonoff get the go-ahead to sample the track? In true Hollywood fashion, Swift and Antonoff’s people called Right Said Fred’s people.

The story goes that Swift and Antonoff’s publishers reached out to Right Said Fred’s publishing company and asked for permission to incorporate the original recording of “I’m Too Sexy” into the final mix of “Look What You Made Me Do.”

Right Said Fred member Fred Fairbass admitted that he’s still not sure whose idea it was for the three members of his band to get co-writing credits, but the British group is incredibly thankful for the hat tip nevertheless.

“How Taylor and her team have treated us should be commended,” said Fairbass, who also pointed out that there have been too many instances in which “I’m Too Sexy” has been illegally sampled. “Time and again we see artists go ahead with clearly stolen ideas, but we’ve been treated fairly.”

Taylor Swift’s “Look What You Made Me Do” is available now, and an official music video for the track is expected to premiere this Sunday at MTV’s annual Video Music Awards.
