After two weeks on sale, the Humble Origin Bundle has ended, breaking the previous record in both revenue and number of bundles purchased.

During its time on sale the Humble Origin Bundle has raised $10.5 million from 2.1 million bundles, with a final average price of around $5.

These figures surpass previous Humble Bundle sales records. The Humble THQ Bundle previously held the top spot for the number of bundles sold (at nearly 900,000). Humble Bundle V, which released over a year ago, previously held the revenue record of over $5.1 million.

The Humble Origin Bundle gave consumers the chance to purchase six triple A games (Mirror’s Edge, Burnout Paradise, Crysis 2, Dead Space, Dead Space 3 and Medal of Honor), all published by EA, for whatever price the consumer chose.

If you paid above the average, you received keys for a further two games (The Sims 3 and Battlefield 3). Two more titles (Populous and Red Alert 3: Uprising) were at the halfway point of the sale.

The full list of games contained in the bundle is certainly rather impressive, considering the average purchase price of $5.

The Humble Origin Bundle was also particularly generous given that EA chose not to take a cut of the revenue, instead allowing it to be split solely between charity and the Humble Bundle team.

2013 has so far been an interesting year for EA, with the widely publicised SimCity launch disaster plummeting their reputation to new depths. Server issues and PR gaffes were the first issues that arose when it launched in Spring, but once these passed it became clear the gameplay itself was lacking.

Strong showings at E3 and Gamescom steadied the ship a little, along with the decision to make The Sims 4 playable offline.

The Humble Origin Bundle has further helped EA to recover from their earlier troubles, but it is clear that they will still have gained from this bundle. More users will have downloaded Origin, EA’s digital distribution platform, and many gamers will be introduced to franchises that have upcoming sequels.
