Despite the antics of Hurricane Sandy, Homeland went ahead on schedule on Showtime’s prime time evening slot with possibly the best episode of Homeland to date.

The last episode of Homeland, aptly titled “Q&A,” was a masterclass in acting by Danes and Lewis which will coercively add to their Emmy award winning credentials and propel them into next year’s nominations. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves, and overshadow the performances in the rest of the cast and the show’s expanding narrative.

We are still having problems believing that after the season 1 finale, Carrie (Danes) would be such an integral force within the CIA having been forced out after mental health issues. The short term recovery is a bit quick don’t you think? However, this is where we believe we begin to see and learn more about Saul, who in comparison to the first season is taking Carrie much more under his guidance and keeping a careful eye on her. This season has also continued with scenes of Carrie and Brody with more intensive engagements which is exactly what the fans were after for season 2, and “Q&A” did a supreme job.

“Q&A” has delivered though, and having glimpses of Brody beginning to crack, the pressure is certainly on him. We, like many others, are still absolutely torn between which ‘side’ Brody is on, and again credit has to go to Lewis for this. His performances of late have been close to perfect. Take a look at next week’s trailer:

It’s the title that intrigues me most. There is hardly a mention of what this ‘Gettysburg’ may be, and beside the Carrie-Brody situation, more time is being given to Mike to enquire into Tom Walker’s death. And, as always, tune in to Showtime 10 p.m. ET to catch the latest instalment of Homeland.
