Homeland will air its penultimate episode of season two on Sunday December 9th, Carrie moves in on Abu Nazir, Roya reveals her secrets whilst interrogated, and Saul’s career is under threat.

This Sunday’s Homeland preview is here and it appears to look like one hell of an episode. Check it out below.

Roya is brought in for questioning and seems to be handcuffed to the table. Saul is the man responsible for unearthing the truth from Roya. The synopsis of the episode tells us that Roya shows her true colours and it appears that Roya does indeed confess. Roya says, “Have you ever had someone who takes over your life? Who pulls you in, gets you to do things that aren’t really you?” But what does seem interesting is that we can assume that Saul gets pulled away from questioning Roya, presumably by David Estes.

Showtime has released this clip of Saul being interrogated.

Showtime has called the clip ‘Farce’ which is exactly what Saul thinks of the whole situation. Despite taking a polygraph, Saul is furious. Why is Saul being polygraphed? Saul leaps to this conclusion, “What are you going to ask me anyway?” and quips, “Company vehicles? Excessive use of office supplies?” Saul is outraged. But, the man who is interviewing Saul is most likely going to dig up something from Saul’s past.

Meanwhile, Carrie loses Abu Nazir having come so close at the end of episode ten to catching the terrorist. “I don’t know how I lost him” says a concerned Carrie. Carrie comes to the conclusion that Nazir is having help, and possibly from within the CIA. “We’ve had leaks all along the way…” Which leads us onto Quinn. In recent episodes, his role has been questioned and to why he is here. Estes has hired him, but it’s still unclear to Saul why he really is here. The trailer shows Quinn ask Carrie, “Does that mean you trust me?”.

Showtime has released a second clip for this very scene.

Carrie is a clever character. She’s realised that there must be a mole within the CIA. Quinn is opposed to the idea, and is reluctant to believe that there could be a mole. Carrie explains, “If Nazir got away, somebody must have helped him.” What’s interesting is Quinn’s reaction to this statement from Carrie, he hesitates and bites his lip, before answering, “These guys work in pairs…so do you want to explain to me how one of them is helping Nazir while his buddy is looking over his shoulder? Or is it more than one of them?” It’s deflective behaviour from Quinn. Carrie asks who was directing the search, to which Quinn replies, “Me”. Carrie is finding gaps, and is definitely on to Quinn.

The trailer ends with a trained police squad opening a car trunk, with Saul narrating, “When I know what’s in there, I’ll tell them why you did it.” Is this what Roya confesses to?
