Showtime has released the promotional material of this Sunday’s Homeland episode, “Broken Hearts”. Carrie goes missing in action, David doesn’t trust Saul, and Peter Quinn’s intentions are uncovered.

Sunday evening’s Homeland preview is here.

The 40 second preview opens with a menacing Abu Nazir questioning Brody, “Did you think it would be easy…that you could betray me and just walk away?” as Brody uneasily walks down a corridor. Things are not looking pleasant already for Brody, who spins his lies between Abu Nazir’s party and to his own CIA operatives.

Dara Dahl converses with Saul after Dahl claims, “Peter Quinn is one of mine”, unearthing all the questions surrounding Peter after Sunday’s episode, which appeared as though Peter was a double agent within the CIA. Saul questions, “Why would (David) Estes put an off the books Black Ops guy in charge of a straight up intelligence operation?” Leaving fans assuming David does not trust Saul whatsoever as Dahl comments, “Maybe he does not trust you.” Showtime have released a clip of this scene.

Peter Quinn being described as a ‘soldier’ doesn’t bode well with Saul, regardless of Dahl’s use of the phrase as “a figure of speech”. It appears David Estes is concerned that Saul “doesn’t get his hands dirty” and, well, Saul is much more astute than the likes of his colleagues, we think there’s more to David’s decision here.

Carrie goes missing in action. She’s involved in a car accident, but can’t be found at the scene. It looks like a pretty serious accident too. Has Brody got something to do with this? Saul and David look completely surprised by the news. The only other shot of Carrie in the preview is at the very beginning, whereby she’s standing all alone in the dark, watching her back. Abduction seems likely here, but we think she’s escaped from her captors. The blood trickling down her face offers us more questions. The following clip Showtime has released, show Brody estranged from his family checking up on Carrie, just as she gets into her car.

The official synopsis is as follows:

Saul catches up with an old friend and discovers evidence of covert activities by Estes. Brody and Vice President Walden find themselves at odds over the future of their political relationship, while Dana and Finn come to terms with their own differences.

We’re happy to see that there’s more air time for Dana as she’s increasingly growing into her new role as her and Finn clear the air. Be sure to catch Homeland this coming Sunday at 10PM ET/PT over on Showtime.
