J.J. Abrams is gearing up to bring an adaptation of Madam X to HBO Max.

According to Deadline, Madam X is the latest DC Comics character set to get the series adaptation treatment over at HBO Max.

Also known as Madam Xanadu or Nimue, the comic book character was created by Michael William Kaluta, David Michelinie and Val Mayerik and first appeared in 1978. She is an immortal clairvoyant who utilizes tarot cards to see the future. Her other powers include levitation, teleportation, and the ability to banish minor demons.

On the small screen, the immortal superhero has most recently appeared as part of DC Universe’s Swamp Thing series where she was portrayed by Jeryl Prescott (The Walking Dead).

Behind the scenes, Angela Robinson has been tapped to serve as writer and executive producer on the HBO Max Madam X series. Robinson is no stranger to working with HBO, with previous credits including working on titles such as Hung and True Blood.

Also involved behind the scenes is J.J. Abrams who also serve as an executive producer via his Bad Robot production banner along with Ben Stephenson and Rachel Rusch Rich. Bad Robot will produce the series in association with Warner Bros. Television.

Madam X marks Bad Robot’s latest DC Comics venture for HBO Max. In addition, the production company is also set to produce on the streamer’s upcoming reboot of Constantine.

Currently, there’s no word on when we can expect to see the Madam X series debut via HBO Max.
