The Disney+ Hawkeye series may have just found its star in Hailee Steinfeld.

According to Variety, actress Hailee Steinfeld may be joining Avengers alum Jeremy Renner in the upcoming Disney+ Hawkeye series.

Neither Disney nor reps for Steinfeld have officially commented on the matter, but word is that the Bumblebee actress has officially been offered the lead role in the upcoming Marvel series.

Disney+’s Hawkeye will find Renner reprising his Marvel Cinematic Universe role as Clint Barton– the Avengers’ resident bow-wielding sharp shooter. In the series, we’ll see him take the character Kate Bishop under his wing before ultimately passing the Hawkeye baton off to her.

If Steinfeld signs on, she’ll be playing the role of Kate.

Marvel comics fans know that in addition to eventually picking up the Hawkeye mantle, Kate Bishop also eventually becomes a member of a group of teenage superheroes known as the Young Avengers.

With that in mind, it’s quite possible that if Steinfeld signs on for the Hawkeye series, we could very well be seeing much more of her should Disney decide to carry on with Kate’s storyline.

Marvel fans itching to check out the series will have to sit tight as it’ll still be a couple of years before we get to see what Clint and Kate get up to on the show.

In the mean time, fans of Hailee Steinfeld will soon be able to catch her on another streaming platform. the Edge of Seventeen star will next be portraying notable poet Emily Dickinson in Apple’s forthcoming series, Dickinson.

Hawkeye is set to debut exclusively via Disney+ sometime in Fall 2021.
