One Day at a Time co-creator Gloria Calderon Kellett has found a new home at Amazon Studios.

According to Vulture, Gloria Calderon Kellett has inked a multi-year overall deal with Amazon Studios.

As part of the deal, Calderon Kellett will be creating and developing brand new TV Shows and film for Amazon’s Prime Video. The forthcoming titles from the One Day at a Time showrunner will be produced via her GloNation production company.

Previously, Calderon Kellett had been locked into a three-year overall deal with Sony Pictures Television, where One Day at a Time was produced. Her deal with Sony Pictures Television ends in a few months’ time, freeing her up to work with Amazon beginning in June.

In a statement announcing the exciting news, Calderon Kellett said that she’s looking forward to contributing to the amazing original content already coming out of Amazon Prime Video.

She also touted the company’s diverse creative executives.

“I have been so blown away by the original series coming out of Amazon. Their commitment to supporting creators, specifically women, has been next level. When I met the diverse Amazon Studios team fo creative executives, I immediately felt a kinship and connection. I could see immediately that our values and ideals in creating quality programming for underrepresented voices was a shared passion,” said Calderon Kellett. “I am overjoyed to take my next creative steps with them.”

As fans of One Day at a Time, we’ll be excited to see what else Gloria Calderon Kellett will create as part of her new partnership with Amazon Studios.

As for One Day at a Time, season 4 of the hit Latinx family sitcom is set to premiere via Pop TV sometime in March 2020.
