Star Wars studio Lucasfilm has announced that they will not be working with The Mandalorian co-star Gina Carano again following months of controversial social media posts by the actress.

In recent months, Carano has made numerous posts on social media questioning mask usage, questioning the validity of the 2020 U.S. election, spreading anti-semitic messages, and making fun of pronoun usage.

At the time of this writing, Carano has a post on her Instagram story in which she claims that Jeffrey Epstein didn’t commit suicide.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Disney had been ready to fire Carano for weeks due to her controversial views, but it was the recent post comparing the Holocaust to being a Republican that was “the final straw.”

THR also reports that Disney was ready to give the actress her own Mandalorian spin-off until her most bizarre posts began appearing in November.

“Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future,” said Lucasfilm in a statement. “Nevertheless, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable.”

Carano played the Rebel Alliance member Cara Dune in Disney+ and Lucasfilm’s The Mandalorian, which has been renewed for a third season.

The agency who reps her, UTA, also announced Wednesday night that they were severing ties in light of the social media posts.
