Gilmore Girls is officially confirmed for its triumphant return! See who is confirmed to appear and when filming will begin!

Rory, Lorelai, Luke, and Emily are officially heading back to Connecticut! Netflix has finally broken their silence and confirmed that the Gilmore Girls revival is actually happening. Break out your best Babette shirts, Luke mugs, and get ready — the wait is upon us. Not since the season 5 finale, you know, the one where Lorelai proposed to Luke and it cut straight to black, have Gilmore Girls fans been so anxious for a premiere.

As we previously reported, the revival will consist of four 90-minute episodes that will each take place during a different season. The tentative title, fittingly, is Gilmore Girls: Seasons. When the cast reunited at the ATX Festival in Austin last summer, the entire group unanimously agreed that if a revival were to take place, each and every one of them would be willing to return. So far only Kelly Bishop (Emily Gilmore), Lauren Graham (Lorelai), Alexis Bledel (Rory), Keiko Agena (Lane), Sean Gunn (Kirk), and Scott Patterson (Luke) are set in stone. The biggest mystery surrounds the possibility of Melissa McCarthy’s involvement with the revival. What would Gilmore Girls be without Sookie St. James? The series will take place eight years after the events of the finale, which saw Rory heading off to cover Obama’s campaign for president.

Lauren Graham took to Twitter to confirm the news claiming that it may be time to return a piece of memorabilia she has had in her possession since 2007.

The series may begin filming as early as next week in Los Angeles.
