Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters DVD/Blu-ray is gonna be packed with special features, and the movie itself has been supersized!

Look forward to more than 15 minutes of additional footage added to the DVD/Blu-ray edition of Ghostbusters, that’ll hopefully feature a lot more of Holtzman (Kate McKinnon) and Patty (Leslie Jones)!

There are also plenty of bonus features for fans to dive into, including two (!) gag reels, deleted scenes, ‘alternate takes,’ and commentaries.

Notably, the extended edition of the film isn’t being touted as the director’s cut — which it still very well may be, of course — but considering that Paul Feig once said his first cut of the film was 3 1/2 hours long, we’re still hoping that some of all that “additional extended and alternate” footage will one day be included in an actual cut of the film.

Ghostbusters was funny and amazing and a genuine feminist triumph etc, but at times the theatrical cut definitely felt a little choppy, a few scenes seeming to end rather abruptly. Let’s hope the extended edition at least fixes some of those minor blemishes on an otherwise near-perfect movie.

Unfortunately, there probably won’t be a Ghostbusters sequel, but this huge DVD/Blu-ray edition of the film seems like a small consolation prize.

Ghostbusters will be available to download in Digital HD on September 27, and the 4K/Blu-ray 3D Combo Pack, Blu-ray, and DVD will hit stores on October 11.
